United by the Gospel Week 1
1 Corinthians 1:1-9 is Paul’s greeting and thanksgiving to the Corinthian church. He opens by identifying himself as an apostle and offering grace and peace to the believers, who are sanctified in Christ. Paul expresses gratitude for the spiritual gifts and knowledge they’ve received, which testify to Christ’s power in them. He encourages them by reassuring them that they are not lacking in any gift and that God will sustain them until Christ’s return, keeping them blameless. Paul reminds them of God’s faithfulness, who called them into fellowship with Jesus.
